A solo snowshoer was killed March 20, 2016, after triggering a Class 3 avalanche on popular Tent Ridge. That's about 1,000,000 lbs of snow.

Know the conditions. Travel with a partner. Have the right equipment and training. The backcounty is an amazing place, but it can be unforgiving.

Please play safe.
