Distance 7.0 km return, height gain 938 m, strenuous
A view to die for: Upper Kananaskis Lake with a backdrop of blue mountain shapes receding into the distance.
Start: North Interlakes day-use in Peter Laughed Provincial Park.
Difficulty: Generally a good trail with one steep section where the trail is eroded and the footing either loose on shale or slabby. The final 200 m to the summit are slightly exposed.
From the south summit, several hundred metres of knife edge gives you a taste of the moderately difficult scramble between the south summit and Mt. Indefatigable proper.
Note: The trail to the junction of the south summit route and the Indefatigable Outlier is better than it has been for years. The flood has flushed most of the loose gravel off of the trail.
  • Upper Kananaskis Lake from the summit.

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
