Distance 8.6 km return, height gain 588 m,
moderately strenuousA climb over a treed pass to four lakes located in an alpine basin. Distance given here is to first lake.
Start: Hwy. 40 (Kananaskis Trail) at Lantern Creek day-use area.
Difficulty: Good trail to the pass. A somewhat sketch trail leads down across scree slopes to the first lake. Route-finding may be necessary around the lakes where there are myriad trails that are occasionally indistinct where they cross rocks.
Note: Parks, with help from Friends of K Country, have significantly improved the trail to the pass. At the time of writing the two new sections are soft and muddy, but that will change with use.
