The old Cameron Lookout on top of Mt. Burke is one of K Country's best viewpoints. The pack trail, built along the southwest ridge is one of K Country's most exciting routes.
Start: Hwy. 940 (Forestry Trunk Road) at Cataract Creek campground access road.
Difficulty: A good trail now leads to the old pack trail from that comes up from Salter Creek. On the mountain the trail is well-marked with cairns. Below treeline are many switchbacks at a moderate grade. Above treeline the footing is shale, scree and rock. A short rock ridge may intimidate novice hikers.
The old route using Salter Creek is no longer used as the creek is choked with deadfall. Map of start
