GRASS PASS
Distance 5.4 km return, height gain 427 m, moderate
A sustained climb up Pack Trail Coulee to a grassy pass between the Bull Creek Hills and Holy Cross Mountain. If you love Limber pines, this is the walk for you. Don't miss going to the Boundary Pine!
Start: Hwy. 541 Park on the south side of the highway just east of the Grass pass trailhead. Protective berms are being built (Sep 2016) at the old Sentinel day-use area and parking there is not possible.
Difficulty: Good trail with a few moderately steep stoney sections. One minor creek crossing.
Note: The pass serves as the usual way onto the Bull Creek Hills via #4A, and is the backpacker's access to Flat Creek via Wileman Creek described under #5.
