Distance 8.6 km return, height gain 509 m, moderately strenuous
Swany’s is the ridge at 574354 — a beautiful viewpoint traversed by motorbike trails! Go on a weekday.
Start: Hwy. 549 (McLean Creek Trail ). Just past the Camper Centre turn right (west) onto McLean Creek campground access road. Keep straight past McLean Pond day-use area to left, then the campground access road to right. Drive to the end of the road. Just before the end loop (from where the resource road heads off at a locked gate), turn off either left or right into staging areas. From both, OHV trails lead through the fence onto the resource road beyond the locked gate.
Difficulty: The going is moderate on good trails with a few short steep hills.
Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
