Distance 8.6 km return, height gain 487 m, moderate
A high pass in the Kananaskis Range with a million dollar view of Ribbon Lake.
Start: Hwy. 742 (Smith-Dorrien-Spray Trail) at Buller Mountain day-use area.
Difficulty: A well-marked trail with occasional steep sections. Near the end switchbacks on scree and slippery shale. All creek crossings are bridged.
Note: Deep washouts remain on the section of the trail after it meets up with the Porcupine Ridge connector trail. Now however, there is flagging, rock cairns and even rows of rocks on either side to keep you on the well trodden trail through the field of rocks. After that the trail is fine to the pass.
- At the pass.
Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
