Distance 2.3 km return, height gain 160 m, fairly easy
Between Marmot Basin Road and Troll Falls trail, Marmot Creek skips and plunges its way down the hillside to its ultimate drop-off at Troll Falls. It's a gorgeous piece of water to be savoured by all waterfall lovers, at its best during snowmelt or after a week's rain.
Start: Via #19 Troll Falls loop. Look for signs near the falls indicating the trail to the "Upper Falls". The first sign leads to a bridge over the creek. The second sign, near the falls , requires wading the creek.
Difficulty: It is steep and currently rough in places, but well signed. There is an end of trail sign near the Upper Falls, but one can carry on to make a loop. See Notes below. There are no signs indicating where to scramble down to Marmot Falls or Boulder Falls.
Note: Combine with Skogan Pass trail and Ruthie's to make a 5.4 km loop back to Stoney trail parking lot. The trail can be hiked in winter. Spikes recommended.
