Distance 8.0 km return, height gain 762 m, strenuous
This refers to the southernmost tip of the ridge extending SSE from Mt. Lawson at 306209. The summit is an unusual viewpoint; and lastly there's the option of going farther.
Start: Hwy. 742 (Smith-Dorrien/Spray Trail). About 200 m north of Peninsula day-use area access road, park at the intersection of gated TransAlta roads.
Difficulty: There's a rudimentary trail most of the way, the gradient is gentle with occasional steep steps and a rock ridge at the top adds spice;
Note: It is possible to hike down to the meadows and tarns at the head of this long, straight, dead-end valley that are extraordinarily hard to get to.

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
