MOOSE MOUNTAIN NORMAL ROUTE
Distance 15.0 km one way, height gain 610 m, moderately strenuous
A longish and popular hike along the south-east, then east ridges to the fire lookout atop Moose Mountain.
Start: Hwy. 66 (Elbow Falls Trail). At 700 m west of Paddy’s Flat campground access road turn right onto Moose Mountain Road — a gated gravel road. Drive up the steep, winding road for 7.3 km. The road is open May 15th to Dec 1st.
Difficulty: Long but easy hike. Bikes are only allowed to the base of the final rise.
Note: Know the mountain attracts thunderstorms, and in some years keeps its snow until July. So not everyone makes the summit.
  • The last stretch before the summit
