Distance 14.5 km return, height gain 400 m, moderate
An interesting trip from the Quirk Creek well road through wild horse territory takes you onto Iyarhe Ipan, the rocky northernmost summit of the mini-range extending northwestward from Quirk Ridge.
Start: Cobble Flats. Park at the first parking area near the bridge across the small creek.
Difficulty: Once you leave the exploration road there are trails to the base of îyarhe îpan but none to its summit. Expect easy bushwhacking with occasional steep rough sections and some deadfall. There is no longer a bridge on the old well. Take your stream crossing shoes with you as it's difficult to cross without getting your feet wet.
Recent logging has not affected the route very much. Here is a track log of the hike
