PIPER CREEK
Distance 19.8 km one way, height gain 760 m, moderately strenuous
One of the most beautiful valleys in the eastern slopes with glorious alpine meadows, little rivulets, two alpine tarns and the option of climbing to Piper Pass.
Start: Hwy 40: Elbow Pass trailhead.
Difficulty: Long day from Elbow Pass trailhead. The time can be cut down by camping at Elbow Lake or at Tombstone backcountry campground.
Note: From the valley head, there is the option of climbing to Piper Pass and for experienced backpackers to cross over into the west fork of the Little Elbow.
