POWDERFACE RIDGE FROM THE WEST
Distance 7.0 km return, height gain 354 m, moderate
This is the shortest route onto Powderface Ridge, getting you quickly into the meadows above treeline where there’s the opportunity for some off-trail wandering. There is a panoramic view of the Rockies from Black Rock Mountain in the north to Bluerock Mountain in the south.
Start: Powderface Trail (road) at Sacramento Pass (491349), 6 km north of Hwy. 66. There is room for about 8 vehicles.
Difficulty: Easy hiking on good trail.
