Distance 14.8 km return, height gain 841 m, moderately strenuous
The two northernmost peaks in the north-north fork of Upper Canyon Creek share the same access route to the col between them, and can easily be bagged in the same day. However, while Peak 412443 is an easy walk, Peak 409435 — from this direction a beautifully-shaped peak with a head rising from shoulders — is a much steeper proposition with bits of easy scrambling. It's my favourite Fisher Range peak, possibly because it offers a great scree run down the back side into the north fork.
Start: Powderface Trail (road) at Canyon Creek. Park south of the bridge at 461418 near the bend.
Difficulty: A combination of sparsely treed dryas flats, stony creekbed and easy scrambling.
