PEAKS 427439 & 436425
Distance 11.6 km return, height gain 631 m, moderately strenuous
The two southernmost peaks of the northnorth fork of Upper Canyon Creek can also be climbed in the same day. Peak 427439 is easy. One can also climb Peak 436425 which ups the difficulty a notch, not because there’s any real scrambling, but because the rubble is a lot steeper.
Start: Powderface Trail (road) at Canyon Creek. Park south of the bridge at 461418 near the bend.
Difficulty: A combination of sparsely treed dryas flats, stony creekbed and easy scrambling.
Note: From the top of 436425, most people descend the southeast ridge, so as to make a loop with the north fork of Canyon Creek.
  • Peak 436425 from the col between it and 427439.
