SEVENTY BUCK VIEWPOINT
Distance 2.8 km return, height gain 293 m, fairly easy
The low ridge at 454584 bounding Seventy Buck Valley to the west is a favourite viewpoint. There is one obvious way up, which can be amalgamated with the optional descent route if you want to make a loop. See the sketch map on page 249.
Start: Hwy. 68 (Sibbald Creek Trail). 4.5 km west of Powderface Trail (the road) junction, park by the side of the road. This spot is 300 m west of the cutline start for Seventy Buck Valley.
Difficulty: At present, off-trail hiking up steep grassy slopes that are often clear of snow in winter.
  • Seventy Buck south ridge.

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
