Distance 1.7 km return, height gain 15 m, easy
Lac des Arcs is wellknown as a staging area for waterfowl during the spring and fall migrations. The sight of tundra and trumpeter swans in their hundreds is amazing, even in early spring before the ice totally melts on the lake.
Start: Hwy. 1 (Trans-Canada Hwy.) westbound. At 10.7 km west of Hwy. 1X at Interchange 114, park on the right side of the highway at a widening.
Difficulty: A short stroll along the south shore of Lac des Arcs past hides and interpretive signs. Bring binoculars.

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
