Distance 8.0 km return, height gain 1036 m, strenuous
This rocky ridge (highest point is at 211417) looks red from the highway. Not a good sign, you think, and sure enough it has a rotten rock section. But don't let this deter you; the rest is great walking, rather rough in places, but neither narrow nor exposed. Overall, a strenuous trip with bushwhacking and optional scrambling for experienced hikers.
Hwy. 742 (Smith-Dorrien/Spray Trail). Park at Sparrowhawk day-use area.
Note that this is a new start following the construction of High Rockies Trail
Difficulty: Overall, a strenuous trip with bushwhacking and optional scrambling for experienced hikers.
