PATTERSON'S PEAK
Distance 18.2 km backpack side trip, height gain 1143 m, strenuous
This is by far the easiest way up Patterson's Peak, a safe route for hiker/scramblers, with no chance of getting clobbered by falling rocks.
Start: Via #15 Flat Creek just after the first river crossing at 696946.
Difficulty: The valley section has been adversely affected by rock slides and a couple of floods. Also there are 10 creek crossings. The peak itself is an easy scramble.
