JUNCTION HILL
Distance 7.2 km return, height gain 720 m, moderately strenuous
An increasingly rougher, steeper climb via the southeast slope and the south ridge gains you one of K Country's great viewpoints. Despite there being only a partial trail, it's a popular climb, especially in spring before the winter gate opens.
Start: Hwy. 40 (Kananaskis Trail). 1.3 km northwest of Highwood Junction. Before the winter gate opens a trail/route starts at the gate and heads across and up grassy slopes to meet with the summer trail at the old road.
Difficulty: Easy hiking on intermittent trails with significant height gain.

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
