Christian Hoffmann’s mountain (two ns please) is an excellent day trip from Indian Oils trailhead. The view west and north is stupendous, taking in everything from Junction Mountain through Gibraltar to Bluerock Mountain and beyond.
Start: Indian Oils trailhead on Hwy. 546.
Difficulty: The going is occasionally steep but easy to follow. There is one section where you have to step across low deadfall. Here is a track log of the hike
Note: The bridge over Tiger Jaw Falls has been replaced.
The Sheep trail has some minor water damage, but nothing to worry hikers. A route has been well flagged through the deadfall area on the flat section before the summit meadows.
- Summit area of Mount Hoffmann. View north to Bluerock Mtn.
Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
