Distance 11.0 km return, height gain 1331 m, very strenuous
Amazingly, this southern aspect of Mist Mountain offers a fairly easy route for hikers — moderate scree, some easy scrambling, no exposure.
Start: Hwy. 40 (Kananaskis Trail). Park in a lay-by on the north side of the highway 7.8 km south of Mount Lipsett day-use area, 3.6 km north of Mist Creek day-use area.
Difficulty: Easy to Nameless Col, then a steep scramble. You need to be fit and fast to enjoy this ascent. The mountain attracts bad weather. Start at dawn and be off the summit by early afternoon.
  • Mist Mountain from Odlum Ridge. Nameless Col at bottom right.

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
