Distance 14.2 km return, height gain 701 m, moderately strenuous
The highest of three small summits, on what could technically be called the western outlier of Mist Mountain, is accessed by an old coal exploration road and a trail, which make the going easy but very long via the interminable southeast ridge. Nevertheless, this is a popular trail, not least because the array of summer flowers is amazing.
Start: Hwy. 40 (Kananaskis Trail}. Park off road 6.9 km south of Mount Lipsett day-use area/4.5 km north of Mist Creek day-use area.
Difficulty: Easy hiking on old road and good trail.
- The summit from the lower summit.
Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
