Distance 6.6 km return, height gain 141 m, easy
The construction of the High Rockies Trail has created an excellent short winter only loop for hikers and snowshoers using the new trail and a return trail usually groomed in winter by the sled dog outfitter. The return trail is too boggy for summer use.
Start: Goat Creek parking lot on Hwy. 742 (Smith-Dorrien/Spray Trail) at Whiteman’s Gap. There is a good snowshoe trail from Goat Creek parking down to the pond. It heads left about 200 m down Goat Creek trail at an obvious junction.
Difficulty: Easy travel on good trails.

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
