MIDDLE LAKE INTERPRETIVE TRAIL
Distance 2.2 km loop, height gain 10 m, easy
This rather pretty lake in Bow Valey Provincial Park, backdropped by the Three Sisters and fringed with reeds, is the place to see diving ducks like buffleheads and goldeneyes after their arrival in April. While most of the loop takes place in forest, the meadows 'twixt parking lot and lake are a flower hot spot.
Start: From Hwy. 1X, turn left onto Bow Valley Park Road. After 3.5 km turn left into Middle Lake parking lot.
Difficulty: Easy hiking on good trail
