CHAMPION LAKES
Distance 1.7 km loop, height gain 20 m, easy
A short trip from the trailhead to two popular fly fishing lakes named after John and Dexter Champion. The lakes are stocked with Rainbow Trout raised by Alberta students as part of the "Fish in School: Raise to Release" program.
Start: Hwy. 549 (McLean Creek Trail) at Fisher Creek West staging area.
Difficulty: The shortest route (about 350 m) is a very steep climb up a loose gravel trail over a ridge. An easier trail (less used) starts a little farther up the valley and makes a loop of both lakes finishing down an OHV trail. See map

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
