POCATERRA RIDGE
Distance 8.8 km return, height gain 620 m, moderately strenuous
A short, strenuous hike through a beautiful cirque to the highest peak of Pocaterra Ridge with extensive views of the surrounding peaks and cirques. In larch season, the cirque is absolutely stunning.
Start: Hwy. 40 at Highwood Pass parking lot.
Difficulty: Initial trail is very braided and muddy in places. Once in the cirque, there is a good trail, steep in places, right to the summit.
Note: The first section of this trail also gives access to Highwood Ridge and Grizzly Col.

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
