GALATEA LAKES
Distance 17.0 km return, height gain 796 m, moderately strenuous
Two blue tarns in the alpine meadows above Lillian Lake are well worth the effort.
Start: Hwy. 40 Galatea day-use area.
<The trail is closed from May 1st to late June each year.
Difficulty: A good well-marked trail to Lillian Lake, followed by a moderate section of trail into the cirque above.
Note: An alternative to visiting the upper lake is a new trail to Guinn's Pass that starts shortly before the first lake. From the pass you can climb the small hill to the east. See Guinn's Pass
