LILLIAN LAKE - GALATEA CREEK
Distance 12.8 km return, height gain 560 m, moderately strenuous
A hike up scenic Galatea Creek to a popular fishing and camping lake. A must-do option is to continue farther to two blue tarns in the alpine meadows above. See Galatea Lakes
Start: Hwy. 40 Galatea day-use area.
The trail is closed from May 1st to late June each year.
Difficulty: A good well-marked trail to Lillian Lake with occasional loose tread. In places the grade is moderately steep, especially toward the end. All creek crossings are bridged.
Note: The rebuilt Lillian Lake campground is now open.
