Kind of an impromptu last minute decision to go today. After seeing the weekend forecast this was probably going to be my last chance on this trail this year before I spend more time in the eastern portions of Bluerock. Arrived at Junction Creek around 10:30 this morning, time was limited as I had to be back home later in the afternoon so I was only able to walk up the Sheep Trail to the bridge over the river. As expected there is snow on the trail and it looks like a few enterprising souls, one of them on a bike with more time than I had in the last day or two went farther along. There were some icy patches under the snow as I found out the hard way. Won't be doable after this weekend unless you have snowshoes. Side note- during the drive out I noticed the south end of Windy Point trail is still closed as it has been since at least last Friday due to a bear in the area.
