Distance 12.7 km return, height gain 750 m,
moderately strenuousThe head of Sparrowhawk Creek is wild, open country with at least 5 little paternoster tarns to delight in. Just don't go expecting larches or you'll be disappointed.
Start: Hwy. 742 (Smith-Dorrien/Spray Trail) at Sparrowhawk day-use area. Starts up the access to the High Rockies Trail which it crosses.
Difficulty: Good trail all the way to the start of the rockpile, then intermittant trailt to just below the tarns. The final stretch involves finding the easiest way up short rockbands.
