Distance 19.8 km return, height gain 899 m, strenuous
It's hard to imagine a more magnificent viewpoint for the Burstall/Palliser Pass area than this one. The standout peaks include Sir Douglas to the south, Talon Peak to the west and Assiniboine to the northwest. Down below you to the east you can trace the route from High Col to Birdwood Pass below the massive cliffs of Mount Birdwood.
Start: Hwy. 742 (Smith-Dorrien-Spray Trail) at Burstall Pass parking lot.
Difficulty: An easy scree scramble via the south ridge with variations lower down. Expect intermittent trails and a couple of hands-on steps near the top. You should plan for this trip by starting early from the trailhead and by waiting until the peak is snow free from mid-July on.
