MOUNT MCNAB
Distance 8.6 km loop, height gain 350 m, moderate
The route to the main (east) summit of Mount McNab (official spelling) is a good workout to a poor viewpoint. A good winter walk when the Sheep River is frozen. The west summit is a much better viewpoint. The two summits can be traversed to Green Mountain trail and up to Price Camp Trail which is followed back to Sandy McNabb parking. In summer, the loop is best done in the Fall when Price Camp trail is drier and the Sheep River lower.
Start: Sandy McNabb Campground area at the lower "skating rink" parking.
Difficulty: Easy, with a few steep sections en route to the main summit. Return distance to the east summit is 5.5 km. See map
Note: Here is a track log of the route starting from the Sheep River gpx
  • View of the Front Ranges from the east summit.
