NEATO-ASPEN-9999 LOOP
Distance 7.8 km loop, height gain 390 m, moderate
A pleasant year-round loop through foothills country that takes in a mountain bike trail, the gorgeous Aspen Ridge and 9999 trail.
Start: Park at a small building 500 m down the Ware Creek Road from Highway 549.
Difficulty: There is an easy trail all the way. The trail is marked along the recently logged (2021) upper section of Aspen Ridge by marker trees (6-8 ft high stumps left during logging). In winter use the tracklog to help find the best route gpx.
Note: The Ware Creek Road is closed Dec 1 to May 15th. Either park on Highway 549 and walk down the road or park at the open area just inside the K Country boundary and cross the frozen Threepoint Creek to access the loop. See sketch map.

There is a good lunch spot by Ware Creek a short distance down 999 trail from the south end of Aspen Ridge.
  • Spray-painted trees mark trail down Aspen Ridge. Sinott Hill right.

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
