Distance 4.4 km return, height gain 64 m, easy
The interpretive section through the canyon is easy, replete with bridges, interpretive signs and sport climbers. To go farther up this dead-end valley is a culture shock for anyone not used to rough forest trails.
Start: Hwy. 1 (Trans-Canada Hwy.). At Lac des Arcs interchange #105 follow signs to Heart Creek parking lot.
Difficulty: Easy hiking.
Note: Almost the entire length of the Heart Creek trail was destroyed by the flood. It was entirely re-routed and re-build by the north Kananaskis trail crew and about 75 Friends of Kananaskis volunteers.

Please refer to the trail description in the guidebook, especially for unofficial, off-trail hikes.
