The trail up Prairie Mountain from Hwy. 66 is closed until at least May 1st to avoid damaging the recently upgraded trail. After May 1st be sure to check the Trail Report in case the closure has been extended.
Mount Lady Macdonald trail is likely closed until the Spring of 2025 when the road up the face of the dam has been built. The Lady Mac trail will either connect to the top of the dam road or a connection will be made part way up — to be decided in consultation with Parks. The route up Cougar Creek will follow the dam(n) road up and over the dam. See the old artists impression below.
Spray Lakes West Campground closed until June 2024 for re-building. This closes the access to Old Goat Glacier.
Aster Lake Backcountry Campground – closed for 2023 season for upgrading..
Big Elbow Backcountry Campground – closed June 12 for rest of 2023 season for upgrading.
Tom Snow North Logging a across a 3 km section of the trail starting approximately 2 km east of Dawson has been paused, and will be completed winter 2024-25. Tom Snow is open and will not be affected by next winter’s logging.
