Washed aside bridge in Cataract Creek
Rocky Mountain Books is working with Friends of Kananaskis Country and Alberta Parks to produce a book on the Kananaskis Flood of 2013. It’s mostly a picture book with some text. All royalties will be going to Friends to help finance trail repair. (Still a lot to be done.)
Looking for individual stories and pics from people who were out there during the rains. Not just in the mountains, but also in Canmore, Exshaw and Bragg Creek. If you have a story to tell, no matter how small, or have photos, please email me: gilleand(at)shaw.ca.
Hi Gillean,
I don’t know if you are still looking for flood photos, but I have a few from last year’s trip up Shunga-la-she. One picture shows the bridge over the Sheep River:

and the other shows a seldom seen double waterfall high in the basin below Shunga-la-she with an obvious line where the vegetation was stripped back from the banks:

If you are interested in either I can send you the original files.
Thanks,
