There has been frequent requests in social media by snowshoers and winter walkers with little winter experience for information on trails in Kananaskis Country that are not in avalanche terrain. Read on, carefully observing the caveats in bold face capitals.

There is a new winter horse, snowshoe and winter walking route from West Bragg parking lot up to and across the top of the cut blocks below Boundary Ridge to Iron Creek Valley which it follows to RR54.
The recently signed and groomed Mine Meadow is a pleasant snowshoe, walking and fat bike trail from Ribbon Creek parking to the reclaimed Mine Scar above Ribbon Creek with extensive views across the Kananaskis Valley. It is also a short-day hike in summer.
A new snowshoe loop has been created starting from Ribbon Creek parking lot that allows snowshoers, winter walkers and fat tire bikers to make a 5.3 km loop that only shares the trail with skiers for two short sections.
